Alvin's Story
Life
I got married July 5th 1974 We have been married for 50 years this July 5th to (Kathleen P Ward / Anderson) who was my high school sweet heart (she is a PAHS 1973 grad). We have two children 1 girl and 1 Son. We have three grandchildren, all girls. We have been raised the two oldest granddaughters.. I found that nothing in life is easy however that with God all things are possible. God has truly blessed myself and my family. I am a member of the Kings Fork Ruritan Club, I am a member of the Suffolk Gideon Camp and I am a member of Western Branch Baptist Church in Suffolk Va.
Workplace

to be involved in refueling the reactors of these ships and was promoted to Assistant Project Manager for Refueling, I am at present working for NAVSEA 04X out of DC but my work station is out of Norfolk Naval Shipyard. I take great pride in being a civil servant with 38 years of federal service . I will retire on Jan 3rd 2017 with 39years and 9 months.
I did retire and 4 years later got a phone call and went back to work as a contractor presently for DOD still in ship repair.
Military
Served 3 years and 1 month is the US Army. I was part of the 309th Transportation detachment and finished my time at FT. Story in Va. Beach. I had obtained the rank of E-5. Presently Working for the Department of the Navy.
